London Korean Festival!

Anyeonghasaeyo fellow readers(haha),

Get ready for a really long post, sorry not sorry

As said on my previous post yesterday it was the London Korean Festival, and oh my gosh it was the best. Tiring but the best.  My sister, her best friend and I arrived at trafalgar square 1 hour before the event started hoping we would be one of the early ones. Little did we know that there was a whole crowd of people already waiting so we just sneakily pushed ourselves into the middle of the queue *makes an evil face whilst rubbing her hands together*. We were standing for 1 hour, surrounded by sweaty bodies and the faint sound of kpop music blasting from someone's phone.  It was hot. Really hot. But then it was finally 12 and the gates had opened.  Us 3 had linked arms and made our way through. We didn't even have to walk. The crowd just pushed us towards the gate.  So there were a few zones and I will be now talking about each and every one of them.

Cooking theatre:

This was on of the places I hardly spent time out due to the giant crowd but this section was full of chefs cooking up a feast for the spectators to try. There was also a variety of kimchi (a side dish in Korea that is normally fermented cabbage but can be other vegetables) however we could not try it because it had alcohol in it, but it sure looked delicious :P

Korean BBQ and other restaurants:

This part was also full of chefs cooking up fried chicken, BBQ meat, ttetobokki,  bibimbap and other Korean dishes that looked very delicious but again we could not try it since the food there was not halal but it seemed like other people loved it!

H and K mart:

These are the two Korean supermarkets based in the UK mainly New Malden,  so we had to buy snacks from there cos a 2 hour journey to new Malden for snacks sounded a bit weird to us so we made sure we got all the snacks we could from there. Everything there is quite reasonably priced and not expensive at all so we were able to grab quite a few things.

K-Character zone:

A place where we could watch Korean cartoons whilst sitting on beanbags and this part was mainly aimed for kids but we loved it too.  We could not spend a lot of time there due to the fact that it was really packed but we were still able to have a lot of fun.

K-webtoon zone:

Ft my really cool nails......well my thumb

Similar to the character place but aimed for older people and featured Korean webtoons for us to watch. We even got a free fan from the place which was great since it was really hot.

K-music zone:

With walls mounted with cds this small area was where you could listen to Korean music.

The stage:

Really pretty traditional dancers!

The best part of the festival.  Where there was a hanbok fashion show,  a b boy dance battle, traditional dancing and even a performance from kpop group f (x)! The performances were great but I sadly missed the kpop performance cos my legs were hurting from all that walking (5 hours) and the heat made me feel sick.  But luckily my sister friend stayed and sent me a video of the performance!

F(x) performing ft screaming fans

Freebies and what I bought:

Everybody loves freebies and we got a lot of them.  We got leaflets,  booklets about Korea,  fans, necklace making kit,  Korean hanbok headband making kit and some glass beads for crafting. I also bought Korean orange juice which is delicious,  Korean biscuits,  Pepero and Korean crisps.

Just a few of the things I got

If this does happen next year. I recommend you go. It is an amazing experience and helps you understand the Korean culture more. You would not want to miss it.  Hope you enjoyed this post.

Lots of love,

Ara

PS: Thanks to Tia Affa (my sisters best friend) for the picture and videos, love you lots xx

Tint bar review No.2!

Sorry for the bad quality picture, my camera was not my best friend at that moment

Hi guys,

It is Day 5 of Lip tint week and I am back with a lip tint bar review but this time the shade is Red not Orange.
Like the peel off lip tint reviews, I am only going to be commenting on the colour and pigmentation since the packaging and price is the same as the previous review. Hope you enjoy ^-^

Colour:

Like the orange ombre of the previous lip tint bar, this one has a red ombre so the three colours are red, pink and then a pale nude. After swatching I realised that the pink and pale nude seem to be very similar and there is not really a difference between the two colours after being applied. However the results are still amazing because there is still an ombre with two colours rather than the 3.

Pigmentation:

The pigmentation for this tint is amaaaaaazing. I expected it to be very similar to the orange bar but it is not at all. The swatch above was only after one swipe across my wrist and you can see how bold the colours came out. I was shocked because I did not expect the quality to be that good, so if you are interested in a cheap ombre lip, this might be the one :).

|If you look below of the swatch you'll still see the mark off the red peel off lip tint swatch, that is REALLY longlasting (haha)

I rate this a:

5/5

Tint bar review No.1!

Anyeonghasaeyo  readers,

I am back with Day 4 of lip tint week and today I will be reviewing:

Triple Lip Tint Bar - Orange

If anyone will like to purchase this product the link is below:

This is a dupe of the VDL Triple Shot tint bar and the quality is probably very similar to the real product. The price is only 99p so I bought 3 in Red, Pink and Orange.

Packaging:

The packaging for this product is like any other lipstick tube but clear, you just take the cap off and twist the bottom of the stick to raise the lip tint and I believe that is the most ideal way to package the product as it is really easy to use that way. However sometimes a part of the bottom tends to come off but it only takes a few seconds to put back on so it does not really matter. Overall the packaging is perfect for the product.

Colour:

The thing I love about this product is that there are three different colours in an ombre style, theres a nude colour, a pale orange and then the dark orange. The recommended way to apply the product is to have the darker colour in the middle of the lips and then the colour goes lighter as it goes outwards, creating the typical Korean lip tint lips.

Pigmentation;

The pigmentation for this product is OK, you need to do quite a few swipes of the lip tint for it to be seen otherwise one swipe will do nothing, that is the main reason why this product let me down was because the pigmentation was not good at all, plus even if it comes out after a few swipes the product does not really stay on the lips for long, so pigmentation is a big let down.

I didn't realise till after that the tint was also a bit glittery

Price:

Considering that the tint bar was only 99p is great however if I had to compare it to the peel off lip tint which were also 99p, the peel off ones will win by a mile. However this is a dupe so it is not as good as the real thing so my expectations for the product were not that high, but I will still use this product since it does work.

I rate this product a:

2/5

Not the best tint I have used and if I had to compare it to the other one I will have to give it a 2, it is usable but not the best.

Bye guys,

Peel off lip tint review No.3!

Hi guys,

It's day 3 of lip tint week and I am back with another shade of the romantic bear peel off lip tint series and this time the shade is -> Cherry Red! Like said before,  due to the fact that this is a review and the only things different is the shade of the product, I will only be reviewing the colour and pigmentation since I don't want to repeat my views on packaging and price. I have to say out of the three peel off lip tints I have bought,  this shade is my favourite!

Colour:

Like said before, this shade has to be my favourite out of the three colours I purchased, I am not the type of person who wears a red lippie quite often so I thought I should try this lip tint since it is not a bold colour on the lips but a faint tint. I believe this shade suits all skin tones, so come on girls don't be afraid to try it, I've realised that a red lip goes a long way. So do not be afraid to try it.

Pigmentation:

This shade comes out the most on the lips and the colour comes out very clearly and is quite bold but I love it, However some may say that the fact the tints last long is good but this particular shade seems to stay on for too long and is quite a hassle to take off, say you accidentally applied the tint somewhere outside of your lips, it is quite a task to correct it as the tint stains straightaway.

Sorry I do not really know why the before and after is so far, lol!
In my opinion I believe this product deserves a:

3/5

I would have gave it a 4 but taking in the cons of both the packaging and intenseness of the stain I had to give it a 3.

Get ready for tomorrow since I will be posting a new korean tint, that is very unique compared to your normal tints.

See you guys tomorrow,

Lots of love,

Peel off lip tint review No.2!

Anyeonghasaeyo readers,

As promised this week is lip tint week and my second review will be on the Romantic Bear Peel off lip tint in Lovely Peach. Since I already reviewed the same product but in a different shade previously, this time I will be only be talking about the colour and pigmentation of the product.

Colour:

In this series of lip tints the packaging of the actual product tends to have quite bright neon colours so before i purchase them I made sure I looked at swatches so I knew how the colour actually came out because I did not want neon lips. However the swatches that the brand gave showed that the colour of the product did not come out neon at all so I ended up buying it. There were two types of pink and I chose lovely peach because I thought that shade will most likely suit my skin tone in comparison to the other pink and overall it comes out great. It stains my lips perfectly and what also stands out is that the lip colour actually stays on for 8 hours so there is no need for retouches.

Sorry for the lighting and my hairy arm (haha)

Pigmentation:

Just like the previous lip tint the pigmentation for this product is great, the pink is clear on the lips and does not hide away at all, plus even though it is a pink lip tint it actually looks quite natural on the lips and not quite out there which was great for me! However if I had to compare the pigmentation from both the pink and orange tints, the orange tint came out much more so.....

I rate this product a:

4/5

Peel off lip tint review No.1!

Anyeonghasaeyo,

To start off lip tint week we have the Romantic Bear Peel Off Lip Tint in Sweet Orange. I recently came across this whole peel off lip tint craze where people were in awe due to the fact that there was a new product which you peel off your lips leaving a faint tint on the lips. I was eager to buy a few of these and thanks to my mum I was able to.
The link for the lip tints are below: (sorry it is kind of long, haha)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-Colors-Magic-Lip-Tattoo-Peel-Off-Tint-Mask-Gloss-Long-Lasting-Make-Up-6-Flavor-/221820546358?var=&hash=item33a588ed36

Packaging:

Like any other lip gloss you might see in drugstores or online this one is in a squeezable lip gloss tube. In my opinion I do not like the fact that the product is in a squeezable packaging because it is actually very hard to apply the tint onto your lips perfectly so you actually end up having a few blank spaces around your lips other than a neat looking lip. However the more you use it will lead you to end up mastering the way to apply the tint perfectly and as they say practice makes perfect!

Colour:

Orange is a popular colour of tints used in South Korea, usually you'll see a Korean woman wearing either a red, pink or orange lip tint so I had to get the orange. And no my lips did not end up looking neon orange but rather had a tint of orange which actually looked really nice and I'm not a bright lip kind of person either but the lip tint had converted me.
Pigmentation:

The point of the lip tint is to leave a faint colour on your lips and not a block colour like lipsticks so i think the pigmentation for the product was great. Below you will see picture of before and after the tint.

10 minutes after

Price:

These tints were only a pound each so I think it was well worth the price and i do not regret purchasing this at all. If i were you I would buy this product straight away!

I rate this product a:

5/5

Etude House ice cream nails review!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Anyeong ^-^,

So I haven't really posted anything other than my introduction so I thought I should post a review. I bought this product quite long ago but had yet posted a review so here I am talking about:

The Etude House Ice Cream Nails PP501

Packaging: Like all the other Etude House products the packaging for this nail polish is cute and unique compared to other nail polishes however the lid of the nail polish (the cone) can sometimes be quite loose and it ends up breaking apart from the brush so that is one thing i do not prefer with the packaging. However overall it is an adorable way to present nail polish and will be well liked by others.

Colour: The colour of the varnish is perfect, it is like a pale violet and looks perfect on any skin tone. It also has a hint of pink and in my opinion it is quite ulzaang :)

Pigmentation: You really only need one coat of the nail polish to have a block colour and that is awesome! Unlike post nail polishes you do not have to do more than one coat so you have plenty of nail polish to last long!

Price: The price is quite reasonable, I only had to pay for the product and in my opinion that is quite cheap for a nail polish especially when it is from South Korea. If you also want to buy it I advise you go to the KollectionK website ------> www.KollectionK.co.uk

I rate this product a:

4/5

Although the product itself was great, I still could not get to grips with the lid and thought that was quite a big flaw for this product but i recommend this product 100%. I hope you enjoyed this little review.

Bye you beautiful people <3,

The dream ☁

Hello my name is Ara
안녕하세요 저는 아라 입니다,

I am a 14 year old girl living in London, UK dreaming of becoming an accountant one day (ikr boring but yh) and living my life in South Korea. Who knew that at the age of 12 watching Korean variety shows like Running Man  will enter me into the world of 한국 and Hallyu.

I have spent so far 2 years of my life discovering the Korean culture and language, I have yet to be fluently speaking in Korean but all it takes is a bit more practice. I enjoy making Korean food, listening to K-Pop music, watching dramas and variety shows and purchasing too many Korean beauty products! The goal now is to actually go there.

Hopefully that will happen, my blog will show you how I live my 'Korean' life and the steps it takes for me to reach my goal.

안녕,

Ara 아라
